What's Next

1. PROVIDING AN OPTIMAL LEVEL OF SERVICE

  • Now that the infrastructure has been created at a world class level, in order to offer the services for free for all Sri Lankans, the Ayati Trustees are looking for sources of financing to manage monthly operating costs.
  • The current operating cost of about Rs 1.5 million per month is met by the Ayati Trust, but is expected to rise to 3-4 million per month, as the centre expands its services. Immediate financial aid is required to meet this rising cost.
  • The Trustees also hope to create an endowment fund to finance the monthly operating cost of the centre.

2. ESTABLISH A RESIDENTIAL FACILTY.

  • Many parents from all parts of the country bring their children with much difficulty for treatment at the Centre. A residential facility for overnight stays would greatly ease their burden.
  • The has the potential to offer short training, health workers, caregivers, etc. from all parts of the country as well as South Asian region. A residential facility for accommodation of participants in such programmes would be of great benefit.

3. JOIN US IN ELEMINATING THE STIGMA.

  • The awareness campaign with videos by famous personalities and cricketers, which the Ayati Centre ran in 2019, was well received by the public. However, we have a long way to go in erasing the stigma associated with disability.
  • Donations of any quantum would be highly appreciated to create further media campaigns for children with disabilities.
